Meaning of Colors

Orange is a power color.

It is one of the healing colors. It is said to increase the craving for food. It also stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. Lady luck's color is orange. I have been told that if a change of any kind is need in life, just burn an orange candle for 7 nights.
Orange Energy

While red is associated with fiery heat, orange is associated with the benign warmth of the sun. A dynamic color to be sure, orange offers a more thoughtful control than explosive red. Curiosity is a driving characteristic of orange, and with it comes exploration of new things.

Put some orange in your life when you want:
  • to spice things up when you feel time is dragging
  • to become more involved in something
  • to increase creativity
  • relief from things becoming too serious

Red is the warmest of all colors.

Red is the color most chosen by extroverts and one of the top picks of males. On the negative side red can mean temper or anger. In China, red is the color of prosperity and joy. Brides wear red and front doors are often painted red. Red is Tuesday's color. Red roses symbolize passionate love. Ruby rings should be worn on the left hand. Red is the color of Mars. This planet is known as the God of War.
Red Energy

Red is associated with fiery heat and warmth. It can also mean danger (burning).

Red is the color of blood, and as such has strong symbolism as life and vitality. It brings focus to the essence of life and living with emphasis on survival. Red is also the color of passion and lust.

Put some red in your life when you want:
  • increased enthusiasm and interest
  • more energy
  • action and confidence to go after your dreams
  • protection from fears and anxieties

Pink is the color of universal love. Pink is a quiet color. Lovers of beauty favor pink. A pink carnation means "I will never forget you".
Pink Energy

Pink is a combination of red and white. The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness, while red helps you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies. Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behaviour.

Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.

Put some pink in your life when you want:

  • calm feelings
  • to neutralize disorder
  • relaxation
  • acceptance, contentment

People who prefer brown are often conventional and orderly. The negative meaning of brown can be a repressed personality or a lazy person. Brown is the color of the earth and is associated with the material side of life.
Brown Energy

Brown can mix into many surroundings. It is a mixture of red, blue and yellow and has many shades and tones - each producing a different effect. Brown can be a stabilizing color. The red in brown gives it practical energy while the yellow and blue add mental focus energies. Too much brown can make a dull effect. Brown gives a feeling of solidity, and allows one to stay in the background, unnoticed.

Some shades of brown create a warm, comfortable feeling of wholesomeness, naturalness and dependability.

Put some brown in your life when you want:
  • a solid wholesome feeling
  • to blend with the background
  • a connection with natural earth and the stability this brings
  • orderliness and convention

Green Tea - 10 Ways to Improve Your Body And Soul

Just an interesting bit of wisdom I picked up on the internet that recommends a nice and relaxing cup of green tea. Green tea has much less caffeine that coffee and is high in antioxidants.  A high quality Japanese Sencha Green Tea is great for the body and soul.

Body

1 ADD AN AVOCADO

ADDING an avocado to salads and sandwiches not only provides you with heart friendly oils and Vitamin E, it also increases the body's uptake of beta-carotene - which the body converts into vitamin A. Vitamin A is good for eyesight, growth, appetite and taste.

2 CHEWING

CHEWING is crucial to healthy digestion as it prompts the release of enzymes in our saliva that prepares the body to break down food.

3 LIFE CYCLE

CYCLING is one of the best ways to burn calories and it exercises every muscle in your lower body. Think about cycling to work. Every hour on your bike will help you lose at least 600 calories.

4 WALKIES

JUST one hour of walking per week can cut a woman's risk of heart disease in half. Heart disease is the biggest killer of women in the UK. It's also a great stress buster so take a wander in your lunch hour.

5 SLEEP YOURSELF HAPPY

A TIRED body and mind can contribute to depression and stress so get plenty of sleep.

6 CUT THE COFFEE

CAFFEINE, found in tea, coffee and fizzy drinks reduces the absorption of vitamins and minerals in the body. Opt for water, green tea, fruit or vegetable juices

SOUL

7 LOVE YOUR LIFE

MAKE a commitment to spend time doing things that make you happy.

Indulge yourself with tasty, healthy meals and book yourself a session in a flotation tank to banish stress.

Pamper yourself with body lotions and listen to soothing music

8 MAKE YOUR RELATIONSHIP BLOSSOM

LEARNING together is a great way to grow closer. Enroll in a class together - be it scuba-diving, chess or yoga.

If you're single, throw a dinner party and ask all your unattached friends to bring along an available, single man they don't fancy themselves

9 CREATE 10 DAILY DELICIOUS HABITS

A DAILY routine will keep you focused, motivated and moving forward.

Commit to doing 10 things each day that make your life feel healthier, happier and invigorated. Pick the things you really want to do. Make sure you have time for a morning meditation or a candle-lit bath when you get in from work.

10 BE BRAVE

SPEND a day doing everything the opposite of how you usually do it. Eat something that you say you can't stand or wear sexy skin-tight trousers.

Be aware how acting differently makes you and others feel. By getting out of your comfort zone, you will naturally take on new and interesting challenges if you push yourself.

Do something that's a stretch for you such as asking someone you fancy out on a date or requesting a pay rise. The more you get used to stepping out of your comfort zone, the more energy and fun you'll have.

Green Tea Benefits

Green Tea Facts

Green tea is one of the most popular teas consumed, but many people have little known facts about this type of tea. They only know that it’s common in China and other parts of Asia, but they don’t know the different types or how the tea gets its potency. Green tea is steamed to get the leaves off so that it can be boiled down through steeping and condensed just enough so that it can be made into other things from hair care products to diet aids.

Green tea also retains a lot more of the nutrient properties than black tea because black tea is fermented so a lot of the healthy nutrients are destroyed in the process. Green tea has also been proven to raise the body’s ability to burn calories and to also process fat. EGCG is also one of the main antioxidants in green tea that’s stronger than vitamins C and E.

Most teas have antioxidants that are good for disease prevention and green tea has the most potent form of antioxidants that are ideal for disease prevention. Green tea is naturally green so it’s not given an artificial food coloring of Green #40 which may throw some people off because so many green tea products are not as natural as they come anymore since food coloring is being used in some products.

Some of the other benefits of green tea is that it can help with is slowing down the progression of neurological diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, preventing and treating various kinds of cancers, treating arthritis and other joint diseases, treating MS (multiple sclerosis).

Other benefits include preventing the degradation cells through neutralizing the free radicals, increasing fat oxidation and metabolism for weight loss, lowers LDL levels for healthy cholesterol levels, and helping those with HIV and AIDS to boost their T-cell count for a healthy immune system.

Green tea information is ideal for anyone considering this to know since many want to know the positive effects this natural herbal supplement has. Heart disease one of the more serious diseases especially for women will benefit from green tea because of the health benefits for cardiovascular health.

Green tea is beneficiary for those who are likely to be carriers of the trait for diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer’s and will help with cell development and growth since certain body cells deteriorate with age and green tea’s antioxidants can help regenerate those lost due to age and body changes.

There are countless websites on the internet that discuss the facts on green tea and the health properties it can do for you if you drink or use products made with green tea extracts. This is because now with so many issues with the current line of drugs and supplements out on the market that are causing a lot of health issues and are or have faced recalls due to the problems that have come up.

This is a serious thing with some green tea products because some of them are now having ephedra and even ma huang added to it which are known to cause serious cardiovascular problems from prolonged use and is even more dangerous for people who are using medication to treat certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure and hypertension.

The idea of being careful to read any and all facts about green tea gives consumers a means to educate and also warn users about potential drug interaction if some products contain ephedra and ma huang or other ingredients that can cause a serious reaction if mixed together. This will also save people from having health complications due to using something that does not go well with prescription medication.

Types of Green Tea

Green tea comes in many types and it also depends on where it was grown and produced at. Most green tea is produced in places throughout Asia because of the climate needed for it to grow to the potency that gives it the taste it has. There’s Japanese green tea, Korean green tea, Chinese green tea, Sri Lankan green tea, Decaf green tea, and herbal green tea. These different types of green teas go through different processes to give it the tastes they have which makes the teas unique in taste and flavor. Some green teas have a mild taste while others have a bit of a stronger flavor.

It all depends on the taste of the individual drinking it. Most Asians prefer a more bold flavor to their teas versus the western side of the world that may prefer a more milder flavor. It all depends on the type of tea being made some teas are best suited for food and others are made for health properties such as hunger control and weight loss. Most people have to be one to like tea to really appreciate the flavor of a good tea, and it also depends on the level of flavor a person prefers in terms of the type of green tea they’re drinking.

Most people like a mix between bold and mild that has a unique taste to it and works well with food since Asians like a lot of different kinds of flavor to the foods they eat and usually will pair a good tea with whatever they’re eating to bring out the flavor in their foods. Green tea is grown in areas where it’s not populated by a lot of people and can get access to a lot of rain since Asia has a lot of monsoon periods which helps tea crops grow faster where in some parts of the world tea is grown in hot climates where even the growing process can actually effect the flavor of the tea.

Chinese green tea is grown more for the health properties than actually grown for people to drink with food. Whatever the case maybe green tea is flavored differently ranging from a sweet, tangy or a mix of mild and bold flavors even adding fruit to the mix to give it a sweet flavor to it. Some types of green teas are also becoming popular with coffee shops like Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, and Gloria Jean’s since many are ordering drinks like green tea chai and others that are either hot or cold.

Yet the various kinds of green tea that’s out there is in fact becoming increasingly popular with the young twenty and thirty something crowd that are starting to get away from drinking a lot of coffee and drinking something that doesn’t make one jittery and nervous. Many people also have to watch their caffeine intake because of the fact that it can also increase one’s heart rate and blood pressure if some people are taking medications that can interfere with cardiovascular health.

This is a concern with people who don’t want to be drinking caffeine all the time because after a while the body can get immune to the effects of caffeine so it can make you tired faster. Tea can actually be healthy for you and doesn’t take much to give it flavor and you don’t have to worry about high calorie intake or any other additives that many people are concerned with in today’s standards of how food is prepared.

Bryan Kest's YOGA Video

Bryan Kest has been practicing yoga for more than 26 years. He initially studied in Hawaii with David Williams, the first person to bring Ashtanga yoga to America. He then studied in India with K. Pattabhi Jois, the main proponent of Ashtanga yoga. Kest has been teaching yoga for 21 years. "My primary objective", says Kest, "besides turning more and more people on to a healthier, more peaceful lifestyle that continually challenges them to grow, is to teach a system of exercise that fully integrates the body, mind, and spirit. The new trend towards yoga is not surprising, given that the body is limited and the mind is limitless. The combination of body and mind creates an incredibly broad range of fulfillment, including top physical condition and a calm, peaceful, clear mind."
Vol. 1: Energize
See for yourself why Bryan Kest's Power Yoga has become southern California's latest fitness craze. Though the program has deep roots in Eastern philosophy, this series sticks to basic instruction and an emphasis on yoga's benefits -- better balance and poise, muscle elasticity, and a peaceful mental state that promotes true health over shallow vanity. Kest's stunning physique is itself a testament to his program's potential, and his first-rate instruction makes the rigorous poses and routines accessible and highly effective. Geared toward beginning yoga practitioners, "Volume 1 - Energize" is nevertheless quite strenuous, and is suitable for more advanced levels. It brings a Power Yoga class directly into your home, introducing techniques for proper breathing and concentration as well as the basic poses (such as Up Dog/ Down Dog) that are used in his later videos.
Vol. 2: Tone
In Volume Two of this powerhouse yoga series, fitness idol and aspiring spiritual guru Bryan Kest takes it up a notch with new twisting/ lunging poses and backbending stretches designed to build strength while toning key muscle groups. Although intended for an intermediate audience, the workout is easily adaptable to many different fitness levels, so that you are continually challenged as you advance. Like his other volumes, this tape combines warm cinematography and a diverse group of students with Kest's dynamic personality, impressive physique, and trademark Jersey accent. Come see what all the fuss is about.
Vol. 3: Sweat
This is the most advanced workout in Bryan Kest's Power Yoga trilogy -- "Sweat" will challenge even the most flexible yoga student, taking you to new levels of strength, equilibrium, and slimness. Slightly modified from the wildly popular class that Kest teaches in Santa Monica, this compact 50-minute program combines traditional warm-ups, demanding poses, and rapid "sun salutes" with Kest's soothing instruction and affirmation. Although Eastern philosophies are a key component of his workout style, Kest never hits you over the head with obscure references or vague directives, focusing instead on proper breathing technique, pushing physical limits, and always doing the best that you can. Filmed in warm sepia tones amidst a diverse and devoted group of students, this video manages to be as relaxing as it is strenuous.
